Springfield Armory XDS fix - I am impressed

Contacted SA through their website. They responded back and said they would be glad to help if I would call their toll free number. Just got a chance to call - they are sending me a taller rear sight under warranty at no cost. Pretty good customer service if you ask me!

I'm not surprised. Putting it in might be hard unless you have a sight pusher or local 'smith to do it.
I noticed that in my "research" - apparently getting the old

They are pressed in,,You are in for a interesting afternoon if they havn,t gotten easier in the last four or five years,,,The sights are the reason I am no longer in the format.
Liked the guns overall though.

2 sight pushers trying to change those XD sights. They must be inserted with 10-ton presses. I did one and I will NEVER try another. I don't think they've done you any favors.

That is what appears to me too - they should have told

Me to send them the slide and they would switch them for me with all the headaches I am reading about. Some of the things I have read seem to indicate the XDS is not as bad as an XD but I am not sure. I also saw a post that said Springfield and SIG sights are out in the opposite way of other sights.

Better get some Gibbs/Gibbasize penetrating oil and soak that thing before you try it. In fact, unless you can get hold of a sight pusher, I wouldn't try it at all. Busting the slide on a brand-new gun ain't a good thing
Don't worry - I will NOT go after it with hammer and punch

I have had enough sight/slide fiascos. I am going to get hold of a sight pusher or leave well enough alone.
