SIG P938

The SIG P938 is an interesting pistol. We'll have to see how it works out LONG-TERM. 100% function with 1960-era CIL .22 LR but not so accurate with that ammo as the Browning 1911-22. Due to the difference in sights the lighting might have affected that. The sights are the adjustable version and this a long-slide gun but they use the 3-dot system which doesn't seem to me to be a target type sight. I do think I will prefer the adjustable version for this pistol. MORE magazines will be a priority, one doesn't cut it even if this has become an industry standard. The slide does remain open on the last shot but the magazine does NOT fully engage the slide stop. I do like that you can function the slide with safety on. I do like the magazine "extension" that allows a "full-length" grip with the short frame, it also makes for very positive magazine seating and removal. One can certainly feel the difference between this pivoting trigger and the Browning type in the 1911-22.

Are you sure you're talking about a 938? Mine is a 9mm. Really nice little pistol. My White Hat Holster is supposed to be done for it today. Hoping I can go pick it up on my lunch break:) I also added XS Big Dot sights. My front tritium sight was dead, they sent me another and I it went dead. They are sending me another but it will go in the box with the factory rear for now.

Interesting...

Did a quick search and see that they are offering it in .22 for "cheaper practice". I'm not so sure 9mm isn't cheaper these days LOL. They are definitely neat little guns.

So, lots of confusion over these on teh web. It sounds like a very cool little gun, but is the slide steel as SIG advertised, or an alloy?

I think it would make a terrific kit gun.

Stainless on the 9mm...

Not sure on the .22 version.

Stainless on the 9mm...

I've sold a fair number of the 9mm versions, so I knew it was a steel slide, but SIG's website apparently shows the .22LR version being steel as well. I've read that is disputed by various web commentaries, so I'm curious to know.

The old Llama scaled down 1911s in .22LR had steel slides, so it is certainly possible to build one that way.

Slide appears to be steel, I'll have to run a magnet over it

but the frame has an entirely different appearance and is definitely an alloy.

The barrel is rather hefty.

I've seen a long slide target version on gunbroker. Looks like an interesting gun.
