If you're near Springfield Missouri, you really should stop by the Bass Pro Shop which is currently hosting the NRA's National Firearms Museum exhibit. You could kill an hour looking at firearms owned by Napoleon Bonaparte, Annie Oakley and Theodore Roosevelt among others. The highlight of the show for me was Frank Hamer's engraved Colt Single Action. Photo was taken with a cell phone through the case; digital imperfections edited out to the best of my ability.

Hamer

A few of Hamer's guns floated around the pipeline here a number of years ago, but I was in no position to play. Ranger "Lone Wolf" Gonzaullas had a Remington 8 set up like Hamer's, and Powell dropped in my hands to play with. Probably a bargain then at 5K, and I'm sure I probably said as much as I handed it back.:-D
