A morning well spent in the rain........

The National Cemetery in Leavenworth KS was a beautiful place to spend a couple of hours in this morning.

In a town of 35,000 people, over 1000 showed up in the rain to place flags on the 36,000+ graves of vets buried here.

The ritual was to clearly state the name, rank and war of those buried while placing a flag on the right hand corner of the grave.

It was impressive.

May they never be forgotten, and may we keep what they fought and died for.

And the others for your efforts to honor those have served our country.

Thank you Byron.

We were on a road trip and passed a lot of midwestern cemetaries this weekend. I am gladdened to see that there's an awful lot of folks left in this country who still remember.
