Have you ever used Osage Orange?

I know nothing about it, just know it is darn hard and dense.
I had some blanks similar to....
....the ones on the right in your photo. They made a beautiful set of 1911 grips!

I love desert ironwood
Very pretty, very useful wood for such purposes.
I had Bill Snow make me one with ironwood
handles. End result is quite nice
