phone rings, Ft. Smith AR pops up in the ID - don't THINK I know anyone there... but lots of folks have our vonage number and no telling who it could be.

Hello?

Hello, I'm with (who cares?) company and we're offering loans to home owners for roofing....

(Cut in) Ma'am?

Yes, sir?

You can do yourself a favor and just cross this number off your list - you're talking to a vonage phone in S. America.

Oh... thank you.

Now, I wonder if she took it serious or if my okey/arkey/sw mo accent made her think I'm pulling her leg... :-D :fryingpan:

I may have to start using that one myself.

Or I would if I ever answered the phone. I can't remember the last time I answered my house phone. It's been years. It rings all day and night, I just never answer it.

Actually the only phone in the house where the ringer us actually in, is an old wall mounted rotary phone in the basement. It's mounted to the stair risers. so when it rings you can just barely kind of feel the ringer throughout the house. The house is on vibrate. ;)

I tell them all that is handled out of a central location, or home office as the mood strikes me. Them give them the number for the Texas Attorney Generals Office.

Or I may or may not on occasion have told them to call 202 456 1414 and ask for Michelle.
