I don't have a good excuse to buy it other than having a decent amount of '06 brass. It's a good looking tang safety model. I've got too many other things that 'need' purchased now. It seems like a great deal at the current price. I've bought from these folk before and they constantly under-evaluate the stuff they sell.

It's not for me though. I already have 3 '06's I've never shot. While I believe it's a great cartridge, I keep buying them to turn 'em into something else. Some kind of odd sickness maybe?

I need someone to straighten me out...

...why is the tang safety preferred over the bolt mounted safety.

I've always preferred the newer bolt mounted firing pin safety like the Mauser.

I prefer the location of the tang safety as well as the aesthetics. Admittedly, neither of those preferences addresses which safety performs its' function better than the other.

controlled round feed like a Mauser or Pre 64(Or Classic)M70 Winchester... But I ain't getting rid of my tang safety 77s either.
