At one time, Powell had a special order registered magnum with an 8 3/4" barrel. We were shooting it one day, and he was burning up some old G.I. junk .38special. One round went "pffttt.", and sure enough, the hole didn't go all the way through anymore. He fetched a hammer and a brass cleaning rod, but we couldn't budge the stuck bullet. He finally took it to a good gunsmith, who had to *carefully* drill out the center of the bullet, and then collapse the remaining lead ring into chunks that finally fell out. All this with a seriously expensive S&W, even back then. It was kinda nice, being so dumb that you had no idea how dumb you were.:-D
