Gotta close friend who picked up a Chiappa 1911 about 2 years ago. Looked good, but thats about all it did.

...I ran about 6000 rounds through it with nary a bobble. I traded it off to a friend about a year ago, who complained of it jamming badly, so I had him try DynaPoints in it, and he loves it now.

the Colt-with-a-German-accent I have is dead-nutz reliable with everything I've put through it, and accurate to boot. Chiappa not so much. Still, from what I have heard of recent Marlin quality, the Chiappa levergun might be worth a look at least.
