Came across an old Colt Banker's Special.

I haven't ever seen one in person before, so I asked to look at it. Nickeled, and since the hammer and trigger were nickel also I am guessing not factory. What was interesting though was the nicely engraved "FIGHTER NEILSON" on the right side, and a "No. 12746" on the butt. The serial number put production at 1931. Anybody seen anything like this? The number on the butt leads me to think it was some sort of department issue, but the name engraved is puzzling. For $750 I'll let it be somebody else's mystery. The pawn shop dude wouldn't let me take pics of it.

The USPS issued Banker's Specials.

I'm wondering if it was a retirement gift. NM

in DeKalb, Texas when he was 88.
He got the idea that they were trying to steal his money. He was waving it around.

That's how we knew it was time for other living arrangements.

I have no idea what ever happened to the gun.

His was in 32 Colt.
