This could be the year...

I recently sold my '82 Buick Skylark,(didn't get a lot, but I have a buddy who's more desperate for a ride than me) and picked up a '97 Buick Century. It's the latest model vehicle I've ever owned! Practically new! So far, I've only had to put a new alternator and battery in it, and I have to take the radiator out and get it boiled out, but other than that, it runs good, and should get me to Arkansas. It's only got 60K on it and I got it for a song! Good tires, leather interior, heck, it's even got a tape player in it!(have to get some tapes though) Good comfortable back seat to sleep in! Only problem is I don't have much to shoot with. That's ok though, I haven't been anywheres since last spring, road trip would be nice regardless. I'll come and watch ya'll, I'm a good watcher.

This could be the year!

Joe, if ya make it, me and Stone will bring some guns for you to shoot!

Joe, bring your stick-flinger and some track shoes.

by Hoot @, Diversityville, Liberal-sota, Wednesday, January 29, 2014, 13:51 (3957 days ago) @ pokynojoe

You could fling your sticks and then we'd let you go downrange and fetch 'em. Most them boys are pretty good shots but, still and all, I wouldn't want to loiter much out there.

It would be my pleasure to meet you and you'd be welcome to shoot whatever I have along.

NFAA Indoor National Championships...

by pokynojoe, Wednesday, January 29, 2014, 14:26 (3957 days ago) @ Hoot

If I don't go to Louisville and shoot in this in March, I'm going to try and make it to Arkansas. The only other thing I have scheduled in March is the Southeast Sectional Indoor Championships in North Carolina and I'm already signed up to shoot that, but it's the first weekend in March, and I've already paid for it. Wife leaves for New York the 22nd, she'll be gone til July, so hey, I'm serious! I've already checked out places to camp, I drove through Clarksville on my way to New Mexico last June, so I know where it is, so it looks pretty good. I've still got a few things to shoot, I can bring, but I think I'll leave the sticks at home, those things can put your eye out. Let's just hope nothing happens between now and then.

NFAA Indoor National Championships...

Joe,
Spadra recreational area is just south of exit 58 and the best western motel where most folks stay.
It is a Corps of Engineers park with full hookups and a shower house.
Any thing from a tent to a big RV. Rates are low and there should be lots of space.
If you want to go primitive you can camp in the hollow where we shoot.
TR

Is that the same place as Dardanelle (sic) lake?

by pokynojoe, Wednesday, January 29, 2014, 15:05 (3957 days ago) @ Tom Richardson

Cause I already checked that out, they don't take reservations through recreation.gov though. I'm not adverse to primitive, but I've seen photos of that hollow and I don't think my ride would make it down in there. Besides, being around all new people, being able to clean up and take a shower, might help make me more tolerable to be around.
