I'd love to have that one, but I'd want to check out the mechanics, first. His description is too vague, especially given the obvious signs of that gun having been shot A LOT.

I doubt the stocks are original. They look like 1917 stocks that went through BOTH world wars.....

even in that condition, they have value to a military collector who wants to get his 1917 correct. They would bring enough to make a big dent in a decent set of shooter stocks.

Roger that. The stocks on the well-used 1917 I found in a local hock shop several years ago were pristine. I thought they must have been replacements, but when I took them off they were numbered to the gun and fitted like they had been on there for decades. They're carefully wrapped in paper towels and stashed in my grip box now, and the 1917 wears a set of Franzite fake stags and a Tyler - retro cool.
