hi guys , i require your input , i am planning on loading a batch of .357 magnum load using approx. 12.5 grains of 2400 to start with[ perhaps more ] .
I will be using hard cast Lyman 162 gr 357446 swc bullets cast by me , problem I have is Red Rooster & Javelina bullets lube are out of production . what is a good lube to try ??

master plan is to develop a load using used brass that will group under approx. 8 inches at 100 yards

someone on the forum must be loading this bullet and can advise me .
many thanks, robbt

You might want to look here.

Carnuba Red or BAC are what i use in all my cast pistol and rifle loads.

Hope this helps.

John

Sure, Lars make and sells good lube for a good price. His Carnauba Red is very good and his 50/50 will duplicate Javelina. He had a fire in his shop, but he is back shipping again. Here is he link.

I use the CR for everything rifle and pistol. Also have some BAC that I will eventually try. Can't go wrong with the CR and the price is right. I always use the 358477 and 12.5 gr 2400 is a reasonable load with it. As always, work up for your gun.

I'm currently using BLT Soft Blue with the same bullet, plus it's little brothers 358156 & 358156HP. Carnuba Red is not quite half the price of LBT, which is still and exceptional value, especially when you compare prices with some of Lyman & Thompsons bullet lubes.
