Shall we resurrect the Belly Gun madness?

I picked up a beater Charter Arms Bulldog .44 yesterday, and decided it was much to bulky. It had giant Pachmayer grips, and that 3 inch barrel was a drag. The cylinder release was missing a part and not functioning well, so I took it off (Ray, you may remember the one I sold you having the same issue). Fortunately, Charter Arms cylinders can be opened by just pulling forward on the ejector rod, which now wears a brass threaded woodwork insert. The original was missing. While the Dremel was spinning, I went ahead and zipped 1/4" off the hammer spur. No front sight is not much of a problem, the trough in the frame makes a really good sight line on it's own.

I Like like bellyguns...I think the Belly gun game was gay.

Still do.
I'd take the spur off completely. Nice jub on the ejector rod.

I'd call the ejector rod "steampunk", but that is gay too.

i always heard that the 3" barrel was needed to stabilize

the bullet. only ones i have had were 3" so really cant say , but some articles claimed so.
the 3" worked..have you tried it yet?

Well... The current guns and the "Pugs" are 2.5".....

I fired it for function. Anything inside of 25 feet is in a bad way from a 240 grain bullet going sideways or not. This is the always/anywhere gun. The Glock 19 travels as backup often.

i would think so.

I had a 22 lr Pathfinder that had problems with the ejector

button. I would open it by pulling the ejector rod forwards and it worked fine. The 44 Bulldog still works fine by the same method. I agree with Rob. Your hammer needs some more removing and sculpting.

The post that the cylinder release pushes forward

is threaded, and can work it's way down too far to release the cylinder. It is slotted and can be adjusted back out to the correct depth.

Cool! Do this count?
