Price check, Model 70 aisle please
A friend has lost his job and is trying to decide if he wants to sell of his Model 70. I don't know much about it or them but I'll relate what is known and would appreciate a fair worth point.
Mid 80's Model 70 in .338 Winchester; he'll be keeping the scope...there, that's it. If it's a particular version, that is unknown to me. I do not believe it to be one of the high end models.
Sorry for the dearth of information.
Thanks for any and all help!
Edited to add: GB seems to be running $500-700 or so in their completed auctions.
is it a push feed or Classic (Claw extractor) version. The
push feeds are, to me closer to the 500 mark if as new the Classics tend to go towards the higher end. I bought a LNIB, SS/syntho stock .338 win mag M70 classic action 5 years ago for 650.00 OTD in AK, where they are Highly valued.

Given the lack of info...
I would have to say the GB sales and Rob have provided as good a peak at values as anyone could hope for. Must say, a 338 has always been on my want list, having been an EK fan since a very young age. Just have not been able to justify the expense for one here in MI though.
Brian, I picked my son's tang safety off a rack that had 5
tang safety 77s...pro'ly a M70 and 700 in there too, but I wanted a old 77 for myself. Then he needed it... If you ever get out to the Nortwest, check out the pawn shops...
Askins, Keith, et al...I NEW I wanted a 375 and a .338.
I hope you have a Blessed Thanksgiving.

Thanks fellas!
Not sure what he's decided. I am in a position to help but the rifle would be extra to my "needs" as I already have a tang safety M-77 in .338 Win.
He's got a Model 71 and I've (jokingly) tried to convince him he should sell that and keep the .338...
Rob, sounds like some interesting pawn shops out there...
Hope you enjoyed a blessed Thanksgiving as well.
Now you're talking...
A Model 71 would be a lot of fun.
