I'm sure you will be happy. I had an AMT Javelina 7" 10mm for many years. Great cartridge. The old Norma ammo was really hot and a great performer.

I miss the old Norma ammo!

Had a 10mm built by John Lawson in Tacoma. We used a Caspian frame and slide. He wrote it up in American Handgunner as Aveni's Avenger (sigh). Using the old Norma stuff it was the hammer of Thor! I loved it and regret ever getting rid of it.

Frankly, the 6" barrel and slide strikes me as a great idea, as I always considered the 10mm in a 5" 1911 a bit stressed. The added weight seems like it would help tame things down a bit. Your 7" Javelina would be even better in that regard.

Now who do we know that can build a holster......?

Rob L built me a nice cattleman for my 7" AMT - you might be able to talk him into one for you. BTW, I never clocked the Norma stuff but the Hornady factory 170 JHP hit 1359 fps from the Javelina back in the late 80's.

Rumor was in the gun biz at that time that a ship load of that stuff sank on it's way over. It did dry up all of a sudden. I had some of the 200gr flat point and let the store have it to sell. Wish I hadn't.

Sounds like a winner.

The 10 mm is one of my favorite rounds. My Delta Elite would be my last gun to go. Plus Para's are what I shot for years in IPSC. I will have to check that one out.
