Sometimes people ask me why I cast bullets....

Bullet casting has allowed me to pursue very fun projects that would have been difficult or impossible to do otherwise. Here is the .40-50 Sharps Straight, loaded with the 240 grain Lyman 403169 HP at about 1350 fps. I am very much looking forward to taking this combination out to the Olympic Peninsula to hunt coastal blacktailed deer in the near future.

That IS neat. I like such things even if I can't

Tell us more about the gun.

Neat....

The gun didn't cost very much. I got a 10" 10mm TC barrel many years ago, and I rented a .40-50 Sharps Straight reamer from Cliff LaBounty. I rechambered the barrel, bought some dies from RCBS, and started casting some bullets.

Very cool idea!

I have a couple project barrels in mind for my Contender.

All the gory details...

Very cool and I think this or something similar

was discussed on the old TC-List. I shoulda bought 2 of the 14" 10mm Auto barrels from the discontinued sale list...

Glen,
Remember, I have a COMPCT truck, we'll have to put your Sharps into the bed, but I won't lock the tailgate!
