He should have fired Dick upon receiving his editorial and posted a column instead explaining why readers would no longer be seeing his name in G&A. Just my humble opinion.

So, I didn't read the Metcalf article, don't know what he wrote and, frankly, I don't care. If he is for any sort of compromise, he's a fool because the other side's idea of compromise is...

Bequette is getting really old, and admits he was ready to leave before this happened. So two old guys lost their jobs, the fact remains that you cannot "unring" a bell, and the damage is already done. This was a betrayal, and I believe it was deliberately done. The decisions were likely made at the corporate level by Intermedia Outdoors:
