If you think morels are the bees knees...
Stumbled across a "cache" of shaggy mane inky caps this past week:
A real "mountain delicacy." These are a little past eat'in stage. Got to pick them before they start to "bleed." I was "wander'n" around the woods with my longbow. Didn't get a deer but I was lucky enough to "stick" a squirrel. Added a mess of greens I picked and a pretty good haul of these "shrooms." Built a fire and had a nice little lunch ready by the time my hunting buddy came out of the woods.
I wonder if "hillbilly cuisine" could ever catch on. I think I just might try and make it onto one of those cooking shows on TV. Hey, don't laugh, I could be the next real trendsetter in the culinary world! I need to come up with a catchy name though.
Joe
that is starting to sound a bit like
the scene from Hannibal Rising. Please tell my you didn't have Cheeks as the main course!
Hillbilly Cuisine sounds pretty good but not
alliterative enough. The Hungry Hillbilly might work.

I've always thought they were the cat's meow myself
