Why a fella asks about European sling mounts...
Very Nice, Hoot!!

Dutch 6.5mm? or one converted to .303??
Original 6.5 calibre.
I recently passed on one converted to .30-40...still wonder if I should have.
Thank you Sir.
I am tickled.
I just knew there was a "rest of the story". LOL
That is a nifty rifle. Cocking piece sight, even. My favorite genre!
6.5? Details, please.
Yep!
It's still the original 6.3x53R. It's got some real nifty features. Double set triggers (I'm a real sucker for those), spoon bolt, the cocking piece rear sight as noted. The one that baffles me is the magazine floor plate has been converted to a hinged and fully covered piece rather than the open Mannlicher style. Not sure how that works but it is slick. The pistol grip and cheek piece were grafted on after the fact but it is so well done you can barely see the seam.
Yep!
I wonder if it still uses the en-bloc clips? Or do you suppose the floorplate was to save the clip instead of dropping it when the last round was chambered?
Gonna take it to Africa for lions/elephants like Hemingway/Bell?
Very nice!!!!
NM.
A classy rifle for a classy man.
Very good!

Nice!
You find some great stuff.
That rifle, in my book
grades out as MAJOR COOL!
Pumpkin pie w/whipped cream isn't as sweet!!..
Looks like a hook swivel would fit the back stud, The front slinger must be for strap loop that releases [laced on?, and then can be un=hooked.
Oh Man! What a beaut!
But then, you already know I am a real sucker for Mannlichers and old Teutonic rifles. Hopefully we will have a TSMS in 2014 and you will be able to make it and bring your neat new toy along.
Having looked it over in person...
It really is a pretty sweet piece of work.
Shot it a bit yesterday.
Maybe I don't know how it's 'supposed to' work but I can't seem to get the en-bloc clips in from the top. They stop about where the top of the catch would be. So, I took to sliding them in from the bottom and closing the floorplate. Works well if you wiggle them in just right. It kind of makes sense when you consider the clip release now functions as a floorplate release. When finished, open the floorplate and drop out the clip. Not at all fast but it seems to work just fine.
Thank you Bob and Mark.
It is a neat rifle.
Thanks Woody!

Garsh!
Ya make a feller blush Rob.
Thanks Jared.
I'll bring it down to CSA for a test spin.
Thanks John.
I was thinking of you when I picked it up but I wasn't sure how to spell "pukka sahib".
I also thought of you Brian.
It will come to MI one day....hopefully soon.
Thanks Jared.
That sounds like a plan.
Sounds great!
Can't wait to see it in person, but it will pale in comparison to having a chance to visit.
