Years ago I bought a pile of this German 7.62mm plastic training ammo and had enjoyed plinking with it down at the pond but never really looked into its performance.

Fired over the chrono at 15 feet showed velocity between 4598 to 4655 fps! I believe the bullet weighs around 10ish grains.

Fired from PTR91 fitted with a micro reddot sight at 50 yards gave this nice tight cluster.

Very cool stuff, bought for around 7 cents a round when the Germans surplused it out.

Absolutely no recoil but surprisingly loud.

The Hun know how to do it right!

rail and mil spec chamber, they would have really sold a ton of em and wouldn't have had to drop their prices. It still bugs me that my Hess clone and 3 CETME's outperformed my PTR91.
I am glad yours is doing so well.

I had a real deal HK91. This PTR91GI is superior to the original in fit, finish, trigger pull and accuracy. The factory optic rail is a big plus.

These are the best deal going for a 7.62mm autoloader.

At 50 yards/meters. I'll make a minor wager it has dropped at least 50% of it's velocity.

Perhaps I'm just easily amused, but I often find 'oddball' factory ammunition interesting, and that's about as cool as it gets.

The performance you recorded indicates it should make a heckuva good short-range varmint round.

Dang, can ya shoot a gallon milk jug full of water up close and at 50 yards just so we can see what the milk jug looks like "after" impact.

Far more accurate at 50 yards than I would ever have expected.

Never would have thought it that high nor that accurate.
