I've always been interested in them, but to me they always looked like they'd be bordering on painful. I never knew the made a 44 mag.

Never got around to shooting it, so I can't tell you. I was curious about that myself.

the other day in 454 with old factory Freedom Arms ammo. I imagine one in 44 Magnum is not too bad. The 454 barrel with 65k PSI ammo was brisk.

Didn't know they made one in .454 Casull. That would be interesting!

Seen a couple, never interested in owning or shooting. Should imagine a shooting glove would be in order, grips reminded me of the old square T/C. Have shot plenty of those. Thats why I redesigned, for my HOWDAH series.

Hard to imagine a gun manufacturing operation there, but Iowans are nothing if not industrious.

Do you know if the Merrill barrels were interchangeable like the T/C barrels are?

And I don't believe they make them that way anymore. The updated RPM XL's are slightly different I think.

You may be right about the factory fitting. I'd have to read up on it again. I know folks who have multiple barrels for the same frame.

Also, I think I've read the older ones could be fitted with the newer barrels. Would have to look that up, I guess.
