Stonewalrus, too bad you couldn't find one like that.
Been lookin and finally gave up

Those little fellers are still popular even in the current bottom feeder craze.
The funny part is...

I saw your posting, and I thought to myself, 'Hmmm...I haven't done the ol' 637 SEARCH for a while.'
Guess what happened next?

Oh, and I forgot to say, 'Thanks!' (I *think* − LOL)

I think it is Rob L and Catoosa's fault

I gave the only 5 shot snubby I had to my son (Taurus 85) and I missed having one but wanted something a bit lighter to slip into my pocket to run errands, etc.. No flies on my M&P compact but there are times that's a lot of weight to pack around - there are also times I may pack BOTH. I have a perfectly good LCP but there is something about that snubby that makes me feel better armed.
" there are also times I may pack BOTH"... I like it!

My wife used to ask if I was carrying A gun and I would tell her I'm not carrying A gun- she eventually figured out to ask if I was carrying ANY guns.
Mine has travelled....

...many miles with me.
Didn't know you had one
by FOG, Friday, August 02, 2013, 02:12 (4136 days ago) @ Glen
Thought you might even still be 'looking for' one... Anyhow, this is only the second one I've ever seen.
I'm pretty sure I emailed you about the last one. It was on GB maybe 2-3 years ago. Pretty good condition, but a home-bobbed hammer, which I have to admit is sometimes cause for pause. IIRC, it was priced at $599 (and sold for that − eventually).
This one's fine, I guess, but it has the usual sharp edges (trigger, especially), so I'll either have to dehorn it or 'throw it back' as part of the ongoing Catch-&-Release Program (CnR™).
Meantime, I have a 'NOS' factory-bobbed hammer en route, so I'd say it's at least 50/50.
PS: I do remember your saying you would like to find a '637 with a bobbed hammer', but that was a long time ago.
PPS: **** long...

Yup, bought it many years ago....
by Glen, Friday, August 02, 2013, 08:53 (4136 days ago) @ FOG
...from that pawn shop down in Pasco.
Not a very good picture....
by Glen, Friday, August 02, 2013, 11:14 (4136 days ago) @ FOG
....but a picture nonetheless.
Gettin' ready to fire-lap the gun?
by FOG, Friday, August 02, 2013, 12:56 (4136 days ago) @ Glen
Or is that just some Genuine Garage Dirt on them ca'tridges?

Nah.....
by Glen, Friday, August 02, 2013, 13:23 (4136 days ago) @ FOG
....that's some of the Federal "FBI Load" from way back when, and the wax on the bullets is aged (vintage! rare!) and only looks like garage dirt.
Just think...

I believe you to be a reasonably sensible fellow, and I am sure you would not do anything so rash, but if you SHOULD totally lose your mind and decide to pass that sharp little critter on down the line, let me know, would you? I just gave my next-to-next-to-last M36 to my lovely wife, and I'd admire to have such as that to replace it.
Sensible? HA!
by FOG, Friday, August 02, 2013, 23:55 (4135 days ago) @ Catoosa
OK, I'll give you the bad news first: Actually, the gun has considerable finish loss along both sides of the top strap. More so on the right side, but virtually impossible for my camera to photograph. Suffice to say, a large portion is bare metal.
And, now, for the good news: I'm afraid this kind of 'issue' really bugs me, so I am sure I will sell it − sooner or later.
'Sooner' would be $500 shipped to your FFL (no box or docs, just the gun and a new pair of Uncle Mike's Boot Grips). Please email if interested.

Outstanding! I picked up a 637 with the Hillary Hole, loved that little gun, I don't care for the shrouded hammer models.
Then I ran across this one, and sent the 637 with the IL down the road. This one had been carried, and fired, when I got it. I haven't fired it much, but have carried it quite a bit.
Model 337 Airlite Ti
This is the one I practice with, a model 60 in 357.
Then I ran across one of these (not my pic) at a gun show. My wife does not like the recoil of the .38's but is OK with this one.
