Air show in Topeka this weekend.
The Gathering of Warbirds and Legends airshow in Topeka is this weekend. Looks like a lot of great WWII warbirds will be there. I'm going to take my dad and oldest boy along with a good friend that loves aircraft like I do. Whats really great is they are taking WWII vets on free rides, including in a P-51! It was amazing!
They really rolled the red carpet out. Took all of us up on a ride in a C-47 that had been in every combat drop in the ETO. Then they took my Dad up for a hop in a P-51, all for free! All WWII vets had the opportunity to do it. Talk about making memories! I'll try to post some pics later. This was the bird we all rode in.
