When he called it a BOOOwee my enthusiasm waned expotentially, Rob.
The mans name was then and remains now BOWee.
Kirchener, who wrote a book on the Bowie knife, disagrees
as does Mr . Bagwell and Keating who have both spent a lifetime studying the man, the techniques and history of and knife.

We have a town in texas named after him and the people bro ounce that name like "gooey" or "buoy".
Bill is a great guy...
I need to get a copy of that book and one of his Bowies. He went with us on our Del Rio hunting trip and I got to know him pretty well. He sharpens a knife with a plain India stone and showed me how to do it. I have spent countless hours practicing and can't seem to get it so I just use my Spyderco sticks. They work well but not as well as he does it:)

Bill and I go back to the old Soldier of Fortune days. His Bowie knives just come alive in your hand. We lost contact for a number of years, but we got back together and have shared a number of hunting trips over the past 7 or 8 years. At night we always worked with the knives. You might be amazed at how deadly one of these things is in the hands of someone who knows how to use one.
