Rossi Lever Action Front Sight
by stonecoldrc, Monday, July 01, 2013, 15:01 (4156 days ago)
I have a new Rossi 44 mag lever action with a 16 inch barrel. It shoots high with all loads and the rear sight is bottomed out. I need a taller front sight. Who makes one for this rifle? I don't want to go to peep sights on this rifle. Thanks.
Who makes one?

Probably a lot of folks.
But they'd probably need more info to be sure.

He makes a living off Rossi 92s. I had to do the same for my 357 carbine.
Brownells had a tall blank. I got one for mine but

haven't used it yet because I changed loads and modified the Williams FP I installed. I just checked and they don't have it any more so I think to dig it out and see if the vendor is identified. Steve Young (steve@stevesgunz.com) is THE man when it comes to the 92, particularly the Rossi 92.

Not a bad thought - I ended up painting the brass bead orange to be able to see the thing.

It is my understanding that Rossi has two different (height) front sights that they used on these rifles. And they don't always install the right one. Steve Young would be a good place to start looking for a taller sight.
