Who can rechamber a 22LR barrel to 22WMR.

I have a Rossi Matched Pair that is a 20ga / 22LR combo. Would like to give the rimfire barrel a bit more oomph. Can anyone recommend a 'smith that can/will accommodate such a job?

I known Mr. Belm will do this to a Contender barrel, but not sure if he works on stuff like the Rossi. Anyone here have a reamer I could rent?

this is cheaper than having it done; i have done one in the past, was pretty easy even for mechanically challenged me.

also take a 22 wmr case and check the match up to the

extractor/ejector; the 22 lr has rim diameter of .275 and the 22 wmr is .291, so see if it will fit or can be easily modified to do so. the little rossi we have neatly and very briskly ejects the 22 lr case.

i suspect it will work. and afterwards you can take a fired 22 wmr case, cut it off at its base, removing the rim, and then insert a 22 lr cartridge into this sleeve and still use it in your little rifle. [ this is a jim taylor trick, i did not invent it. ]

Thank you....

.....on both counts. I had forgotten Mr. Taylor's little trick.

Going to place an order for the reamer today.

If you scroll down to comments on that item, there is one Paco in Tucson who gives it a hearty thumbs up...
