Speaking with Ashly Emerson at the Holiday, & seeing what he wanted for arid SW gun toting, I was convinced . This is just a prototype the finished version will have a sewn toe. and yes that's my favorite Mountain Gun back view:

with all the rain we've had this sping/summer, my Barranti "Raider" has been getting a workout.
Is the flap integral or attached? How well does it cover the but in cross draw position?
Mark one of those sold when you ramp up.

Sometimes.
The rest of the time, their 'flaps' should probably be detachable . . .

holster. What I have found for use in the colder climes is that a standard pancake holster covers the gun very well and rides close enogh that one's shell or fleece or vest covers the pistol and provides great protection for the gun, yet allows quick access to the pistol.

Looks like a good solution

I like the style of certain flap holsters, but I can only guess where they would be most useful (busting through dry brush, etc.).
Whenever I hunted with a handgun, it was usually in my hand, not the holster.
If it started raining or something, most often I just kept right on going.

Maybe flaps aren't practical in one way or another but I have always liked the style.
