Mossberg lever gun. Um….

What was Jeff Cooper said? "An ingenious solution to a non-existant problem." I was just wading through all the SHOT Show Media Day videos. About the only firearm I saw that didn't have a Picatinny rail on it was the Colt Bulldog Gatling gun.
The butt stock is absurd. The rest of it, although ugly,

could be practical if I squint my eyes just enough.
Anyway, I'm holding out for the side-folding version in Coyote brown
Cool! Neato! Where can I get one?!!

If it had a large-loop lever . . .
by Kentucky, Tuesday, January 17, 2012, 10:48 (4691 days ago) @ cas
. . . would they have called it the "John Wayne assault carbine"?
Sigh.
that is pretty silly, but wait a minute
by bj , Tuesday, January 17, 2012, 11:59 (4691 days ago) @ cas
The .30-30 levergun is very capable as a carbine. A folding stock of some sort would be very useful, but needs to be more compact than what they have shown there. I don't see any use for the flash suppressor or the rails on the forend, BUT a rail on the barrel for a scout scope would be great. They could keep the wooden forend or make a smooth black plastic forend like Winchester has made in the past.
Whoever cooked up this mess..
by Byron, Tuesday, January 17, 2012, 14:47 (4690 days ago) @ cas
Clearly knows nothing about handling a rifle. Morons.
I know the wood stock lines should be similar...
by cas, Tuesday, January 17, 2012, 19:29 (4690 days ago) @ Byron
..at least along the top line. But in that photo the gun looks so awkward and unbalanced that it looks like it's ready to flip over.
Easy....

You just restore balance by hanging boat-loads of accessories off'n the forearm rails.

Ack/hack/choke/ barf....
I need to go get my old Winchester 94 out of the safe and look at it for a while just to clear that image out of my mind.....
Had some hopes for the New Marketing at the company....

They historically produce real value in shotguns [185's live forever] and some very accurtte .22's.
The new lady in charge at the time of the 464's intro announced possible 'new' calibers, etc. The initial wtiteups seemed to beleive that the action was pretty dang strong, too.
Sigh and OH'well; nivvermind.
No 'new cartridge' 120 to 140 gr 6.5/.257 rubbertip bullets, or 10MM/.40
Bearslsammer - Pigpoker coming out of THAT bbl, hunh?
