Melodie's father, George, passed away Monday morning about 3:30 after a long battle with cancer. He was 86 and lived a full life. He was diagnosed with cancer 29 years ago and has beat it until yesterday. As an amazing aside, he was given his "last rights" a full half-dozen times and managed to prove the priest wrong all but this last one.
He was an amazing man; wrote 4 books; collected a Masters and PhD; taught high school through graduate school; raised a fine family with excellent values; was president of the local Society of Mfg Engineers; sang in the local church choir for 50 years.
I'm sure I have missed a few accomplishments. He was a pleasure to have known and I am proud that he allowed me to be a part of his family.

Keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers.
One of life's pleasures is to meet such people....
...and equally so, the sadness of their departure. But what wonderful memories!!! A prayer of joy for such a soul; there just aren't enough of them to go around.
