Ya should cut north on the east side to Las Vegas and then two lanes to Taos or up 25 and go to Cimmaron (sp)then west over the mountains to Taos.

If ya get in the area again the Cumbres and Toltec from Antonito or Chama is a fun day trip.

Hope you missed the major dust storm that blew through. Looking at the storm track some of the issue was likely some of the fire damage in the Jemez Fire a year or two ago.
