Just back from a New Mexico vacation
We have been gone since last Saturday. On the way to Taos we stopped at the Battle of the Washita and walked the battlefield. We also stopped at Fort Sumner and visited the grave of Billy the Kid, Tom Folliard and Charles Bowdre. Once in Taos, which I thoroughly enjoyed, we took in the town, toured the Taos Pueblo, drove out to Chaco Canyon and hiked around, and white water rafted the Rio Grande Gorge. We then went down for one day in Santa Fe where we went to the Georgia O'Keefe museum, took in an Ansel Adams exhibit with many works for sale, and went to a nice living history museum along the Camino Real. All in all a fine vacation. My youngest has now decided he wants to live near Taos in an adobe house. Can't say as I blame him. Loads of fine country with great motorcycle roads in and around the area. I need to go back on the bike.
