Supposedly extinct dinosaur round spotted...
By some mysterious means I obtained the following pics of a reputedly extinct dinosaur. Any help in identifying approximate date of manufacture for curiosity's sake would be appreciated.

IIRC, the only ones I saw was in the late 60's.
Thank you, sir. That's about

the time frame I was guessing. No telling when they were actually purchased or by what means (not sure when everything went to Army Store only). An ex-competition shooter had them in his stash, but that's all I know.
Would ammo that old have that plastic peg style tray?

I would think cardboard. Maybe styrofoam.
Good question. I admit zero experience with

German ammo of any vintage. Maybe I'll get a chance to contact the original purchaser and get more info.

Gecko, or something like that... Geco (had to go look). The story is that the original purchaser was a competitor but not a reloader. It's NOS for all intents and purposes.

Good point. That would still fit in with

what I know of the original purchaser so far and the changes/upheavals in the national shooting scene in the early/mid 90's.
It also says RFA

Which is the French designation of the Federal Rupublic of Germany, which was the official designation of West Germany, now just Germany. The East was of course the "Democratic" Republic of Germany.
Still producing ammo
