West Virginians act conservative and vote liberal (except for Gore, Kerry and Obama.
UMWA always supports the democrats for sure as I'm sure hillbillies of the dole do also. I'll bet most of the UMWA members are conservative. It seems to be slowly bearing to the right, but if someone promises the unwashed masses money or free stuff I'll guarantee they'll vote them in LOL. We used to have Republican governors but the Democrats have always controlled the legislature since the depression and we are always 49th in everything.
