Gun show pain and suffering today.
Please tell me I did the right thing by passing on a 86 year old Winchester 52 today for $500.
No blue left on the barrel, shiny white(not marked stainless either), wrong stock with no buttplate, globe front sight and target peep rear. Serial number is from 1927. Not rusty, just missing blue.
These things light a fire under me. I sold the only other one I have had when I left Alaska.
Yeah. Gun might not be worth that.

But the sights.... depending, they could crowd $500 by themselves. Who made the sights?
Lyman. Nm

You did the right thing. I like Winchester 52s, but not that much.
If they were Vavers, I would've bought it. Vintage
Lyman 48J or 48F... maybe.
Thing that turns me off would be the aftermarket stock. Still, a $500 Win 52 is pretty rare.
