375 Wby in a 1917 sporter. I have a 25-06n and a 257Rbts, really hard to kill something deader than a 25-06 or 300 WBY does...

....240 Weatherby that was built on a Winchester Model 70 by Tom Sharon over in Montana. I shot some prairie dogs and ground squirrels with it using the Hornady 75 grains HP, and one antelope doe (at about 250 yards) using a Nosler Partition (I forget if it was 95 or 100 grains, but it was a Partition). It was a beautiful rifle, but I got bitten by the handgun hunting bug, and it got sold off.

Back in the early 90s, we had a .460 Weatherby Mark V that we bought as a part of an estate sale, on our table. We HAD to buy a box of ammo and take it out to the range! This particular gun had both a Magna-Port and a muzzle brake. I shot it off the bench once, and it got my attention (but no bruises, etc.). I shot the rest of my 5 rounds from the open-legged sitting position, and enjoyed the experience (but 5 was enough).

1969 when I was 16. Shot a seagull with it once. I found it entirely adequate for seagulls. Hunted white tail with it for year. A friend who was a much better heavy recoil shooter than I was, once got a 1.5 inch 300 yard group with a heavy load of IMR 4350 and a 150 grain (Sierra I believe, may have been a Hornady spire). Still got it. I don't enjoy the recoil and muzzle blast like I did as a teenager.

Very accurate rifle.
