Glen and I were discussing firearm restoration the other day, and the names of several several people in the business came up, including the father & son team of David T. & David R. Chicoine @ Oldwestgunsmith.com

I haven't used their services myself, but they seem to have a better than average reputation, including on the S&W Forum, where I first 'discovered' them.

They also carry parts for certain obsolete firearms, etc.

I think Gunsmithing Guns of the Old West is the title. It's been awhile since I've read it but I do remember it having a lot of good, practical info in there.
