Bought ANOTHER three-screw OM Blackhawk
6 1/2 inch barrel, .357 in 90+% condition. Solid-looking shooter, and at $349, totally irresistible.
Should say that I put down half on it. Started the permit process and that should take another 5 weeks to finish.
Also picking up the Colt Cobra, and a Buckmark (5 in. bull barrel, accumold grips, green-glowing front sight, two extra mags).

5 WEEKS!?!? WHAT PART OF THE SOVIET UNION DO YOU LIVE IN?? 10 MINUTES HERE TO PURCHASE. FILL OUT THE FEDERAL FORM, SHOW CCW PERMIT AND GO
Even with bgd check in TN about 20 minutes
Nm
Even with NICS check in WA about 20 minutes
Takes longer to do the State paperwork than the NICS check.

If you can write fast and the computer is good to go I can have you out in 5 minutes. I have done myself in 3.5 minutes! But then, I don't have to read the answers off the paper form while filling out the computer form.

Thats about right....
The last couple I bought locally at a place they know me took less time that it took to drink a cup of coffee. Probably more than 3.5 minutes (these guy like to talk) but real quick.

State Paper?
What is state paper?
It is bad enough dealing with the Feds.
Even with NICS check in WA about 20 minutes
State paper=WA pistol registry for handguns. PITA. Its something we have been trying to get rid of for a LONG Time...
On the plus side, suppressors are now legal to both own AND use. We are working on SBR/SBS now. Next will be Class III.

Written this up before many times before, but here goes:
1) Pick up permit to purchase forms (m-f 8:30 to 3:30)
2) Fill out but do not sign forms
3) Set up interview appointment with CI
4) Attend interview and answer questions and then sign forms (mental health check, too) in presence of CI
5) Submit money orders at interview ($2 per gun plus $18 for State police check if not already fingerprinted)
6) police will send forms out to the two people not related to you that you named as references
7) friends will fill out and return forms
8) you get a letter from pd telling you to pick up permits (m-f 8:30 to 3:30)
9) pick them up
10) take them to dealer where you will be run thru the phone insta-check despite the fact that you already have a permit to purchase ($16.97 charge for the call)
11) get gun(s) after filling out rest of permit(s)
Done for each and every handgun you wish to purchase in New Jersey.

One of the reasons I'd never vote for Christie.
Or any NJ politico who has gone along with it. No hollow point bullets, either. Genius.
