Fluted 41 Bisley
I picked this up today at my local shop. It was made in 85 by the serial number. Any idea what year Ruger stopped fluting the cylinders? It's in excellent shape but has a few spots of freckling on the grip frame. Appears to have been shot very little.

Nice find....I had one awhile back but it had the unfluted/scrolled cylinder, never really cared for the looks of it, much prefer the fluted look on the Bisley.
ps
I received the envelope, thank you, but you didn't have too.

I appreciate it. The parts are now in a 357 marlin.

That's a nice one, and I agree: The fluted cylinder looks much better.
Congrats!

Very nice! I may have some .41 mag stuff around of it would help. Shoot me an email at your convenience and I'll take a look at what I have.

Nice...
HHHmmmmm.... wonder what it would cost to convert my NM Blackhawk in .41Mag to a Bisley.... HHhmmmmm
Shoot that Bisley
My unfluted 41 Bisley is the one of the finest, most accurate revolvers I own. The other one is a 357 Bisley.

Can't tell you when Ruger stopped fluting them, but they are relatively rare. If I recall correctly (and Matt can chime in here with accurate information), there were less than 2500 of them made in that configuration in .41 Magnum.
