I've had a pretty good day as well
My new-to-me, 4-inch Smith & Wesson Model 617-1 arrived today, right on schedule!
Although it says "SB" on the box, I didn't really think it was a square butt frame with its CBRxxx serial number, and it isn't one; it's as round as my rear end.
That's OK with me; I'm used to the Hogues on my 617-0, plus I actually like black 'rubber' grips on stainless steel DA revolvers.
This evening I'll detail clean and lube it, and if all goes well, tomorrow I'll punch a few cans with it.

Looks Great!

41 Mags rule, Baers rock!
SWEET!
I especially love that Patridge front sight. How soon do you think you'll have that DA properly broken in? 5000 rounds or so?

Great looking Smith with good sights, now get out there and enjoy it !!!
Thx guys.

You're most welcome!

Only 5000?
Actually, I'm afraid a case of .22 Long Rifle ammo is probably 'worth' more than the gun on today's market...

That estimate...
...was for the BREAK IN, not the break down.....
That is a dandy FOG.
Who knew? Guess like so many other guns that we all figured would be in the S&W line up. That 617 wiht a 4" barrel is a highly sought after one. I always looked at that one as the perfect companion to the 686 L frame.

Thanks, Murphy
I think you're right about the 686 match.
I also think the 5-inch N-frame is analogous to the 4-inch K-frame, so a 5-inch 629 would compliment it nicely.
The 617, I mean... [*GLOAT*]
