Mailed out a money order for a flat top .45

My dealer/ transfer guy will transfer in guns at his cost and only charge his transfer fee so it was hard to hold out any longer! Hopefully by next weekend I'll have it here to play with. Ended up going with a blued 4 5/8" version. Almost got a stainless until I realized I actually like the lok of a well worn blued gun!

Only local ago I've seen them at has had them in the $575 range. They've always had the 5 1/2" version which has kept me from jumping. I'm a bigger fan of the stubbier barrel on a single action.

I wanted the 4-5/8" guns when I got "into" Ruger SAs but JerryB had a 5-1/2" .32 H&R so I got a 5-1/2" Single-Six .22 as well. Then when the .44s came out the 5-1/2" was the first one I could get and it seems a bit more accurate. THEN the .45 Colt/.45 ACP FT came out, first in 5-1/2", and now I have a collection of 5-1/2" Rugers! :-D I've even been thinking of selling the 4-5/8" .44 Spec FT.

I'm an odd one. I prefer either a short or long barrel. Im just the opposite on smith n frames though. Skeeter was right; a 5" barrel seems perfect!
