DON'T BLAME HER! THE ONLY MEAT AVAILABLE IN WWII ON THE HOMEFRONT WAS SPAM. SWORE I WOULD NEVER EAT IT WHEN I GREW UP (EVEN IF THEY CALL IT TREET)
AMEN. I've eaten enough SPAM (and Treet) to last
a lifetime and I wasn't around during WWII. My mom would fry it and serve it with a scrambled egg.

As I kid, it was a rare and wopnderful time when we had
any sort of meat for breakfast, canned or not.

Spam with baked beans and pineapple slices on top was a...
...one skillet fav in my "yute."
I have the same attitude about canned Tuna...

I like Spam on occasion. I haven't had it for a while though
.
Same here
We had bacon for breakfast very very rarely, probably 2 or 3 times in a year. I do not ever remember having sausage for breakfast while growing up. Ham, never.
AMEN. I've eaten enough SPAM (and Treet) to last
I like the occasional fried spam sandwich. Sliced thin and fried crispy. Yum.
We didn't have it often. Mostly cereal, toast, donuts,
waffles, and Mom made all of it until I was old enough to cook, about 9 or 10. Some mornings was no more than a glass of milk an a piece of bread (Mom baked it). And mostly this was for DINNER/SUPPER!

I eat it for nostalgic purposes
as my mother fried many a can of it back in the 60's when i was growing up. Fried Spam on toast with mustard and a big slice of onion is still a pretty good sandwich. It really needs the onion and mustard to blend with that Spam taste.
Fried corned beef was made up into sandwiches the same way, mustard onions toast yummy.
Treet was for poor people. I have had my share of Treet meat too. I have a can in my cupboard.
Hey its almost 6:00am I think I'll go fry me some Treet meat and eggs and reminisce of my youth!
I'll think of Saturday morning around Ocotober 66 or 67 with gravy, biscuits and SPAM and my single shot Noble 22 rifle and me missing squirrels. Then coming home to a Spam sandwich and an RC Cola

I kinda like it sliced right out of the can on a sammich with mustard...occasionally.
