This is a revolver I bought a number of years ago. I have shot it a pretty good bit and carried it a lot. It shoots fine with a mid range 44 Spl load. The lacquer or whatever finish is wearing off. Any suggestions as to what I could get the rest off with? This is the only one of these I have seen. Nice gun.

I would call S&W. They may refinish it for you. I have a 332 that did the same thing and started to corrode on the back strap. They refinished it free of charge. Only thing missing was the titanium symbol or what every you call it on the side of the frame. If I remember correctly they said there was a problem with some of them.

The only 44 Special I would trade my Bulldog for. One of those popped up around here for sale on Armslist. Guy wanted north of $1000 for it.
