For me it is; I am the original owner.
Detonics MKVI Combat Master
.45 Caliber Time Machine
You don't see Detonics guns that often, anymore. Nice!
Nice! I have a Commander size Detonics waiting on my
purchase in town. Local shop bought it and called me. I have no idea about it other than all stainless commander sized, Service Master, I believe. and 500.00...
That Combat master looks to be in great shape! So, did you ever read Jerry Ahern's Survivalist?

A local shop has, well, half of one. It's an original Detonics slide on a Colt Officers lower. He ofeered to sell it to me for the sacrifice price of $650.00. All those years of playing poker with my friends served me well that moment. I kept my poker face on, and didn't collapse on the floor laughing.
Would a been a sacrifice alright!

There was a time when I actually looked for a Detonics thinking I would find one I could afford. That is soooo cooooool!

re: Jerry Ahern's Survivalist
Guess I'm overdue.
Heckuva deal!
Here's hoping your new Service Master proves to be the cat's meow.
I acquired one of those -- under the Catch-&-Release Program --- but alas, it got away.
I have never seen another Service Master since mine was
traded away in a fit of "I gotta have that different shiny thing!".
Seems to me that Detonics was ahead of the custom production 1911 curve by about 20 years.

Always had a soft spot for Detonics myself. Actually did some combat shooting with one I borrowed from a friend in the mid-80s. It was a temperamental little bugger, but sure did shoot nice with loads it liked.

This appears to be the fourth incarnation of Detonics. Can the brand survive being batted around like this?
I've shot that gun!
It's a regular staple driver!
