Speak to me about Pre Model 27's and their value.

I seemed to have pulled another blind pig finds an acorn again.

Vintage is around 1954-1955, magna stocks that will most likely number to the gun. 6 1/2" barrel and clean as a hounds tooth. Slight turn line on the cylinder is about all there is to see. No holster wear at the muzzle or elsewhere. Just the gun, no box candy or box.

I've searched online for a day or so and it seems prices can be all over the place on this one. Anyone care to give a rough estimate on what info I currently have?

Thanks,

Murphy

GREAT SIXGUNS AND THEY INSPIRED WHAT WILL BE BOOK #7, "CLASSIC DOUBLE ACTION SIXGUNS". I CAME UP WITH FOUR LAST YEAR, 5", 2-6 1/2", AND 8 3/8". ALL WERE RIGHT AT $900 EACH.

Mine's from the same era. Fabulous shooter, probably

the smoothest action of any of my N-frames. Those 1950s guns lack nothing in postwar refinement.

It's got a lot of 'character', which I don't mind, but some fool electropenciled his name on the side plate, which is irritating.

In any event, the darn thing shoots great, and rings like a bell when dry fired.

Great gun, as JT wrote.

I'd agree with JT - $900ish

These don't bring nearly as much more than a later Model 27 as one might think, at least not in that barrel length and without the box and papers. Sounds to me, though, like you bought it right. Enjoy it!

I bought this one last year ....

... for well under $900. Of course with the refinish it's no collectors item, but I'm a shooter. It's a 3 1/2 inch pre Model 27, dates to 1954-55 and has been refinished in some kind of electroless nickel.

Excellent, always glad to hear about another book from JT

Hoot, it should arrive early next week. It was one of those hiding on Gunbroker with a *Buy Now* price I couldn't pass up.

That being said, I'm .357 poor if there is such a thing. So I'll probably be debating on flipping it, or saying bye bye to a 6" S Series Model 28-2 I have. The Model 28 doesn't have the original grips, but sure is a dandy.

I'll get pictures up sometime next week and let Rob drool.

I believe I'll hang onto it
