has a story today about a fellow in a town a few miles away, who got shot and killed crawling through a window of a home, trying to rob the place. The homeowner was there with his wife and kids and put the blast on him. The rag also mentioned the 2007 Texas Castle Law who protects folks in these circumstances from criminal prosecution and civil liability.

I sure like that law! I bet the guy on the right end of the gun likes it as well.

The "Make My Day" law.

Oklahoma has had this law on the books for two decades at least.

Actually, I've always resented it being called the "Make My Day law". It seems to conjure up thoughts of an innocent homeowner defending the lives of their family or themselves as some sort of heartless killer.

Aside from that, its a good law that needs to exist.
