H&R 922

Have this friends H&R 922 w/six digit serial #. Its DA only. Did H&R make a DA only 922 or did someone fiddle with this thing. It has no notches for safety, 1/2 cock or SA function....just DA.

Seems like if its like my 732 after firing the hammer rebounds back into the safety notch. Mine is not reliable in doing this so I make sure I carry with 5 rounds. I'll wager it has been fiddeld with. But there would be no reason for them to do away with the safety notch. The mainspring plunger/mainspring (hammerspring) has to be balanced along with the hammer strut configuration for the thing to rebound reliably. It can be frustrating. My 732 in 32 S&W Long misfires on a regualer basis if I dont use Federal primers . CCI's and Winchesters seem too hard for the hammerspring.

I recall H&R did SA-only in the Sportsman which later became the Model 199 (maybe?). I don't see anything in any reference 'round here (not many really) but there's something that says to me they might have.

There. How's that for absolutely no help? :-|
