The best way to eat turnips is to feed them to the hogs and eat the pork.

Our old pooch helped us grow a pumpkin-sized radish. I couldn't pay the neighbor kid to eat it, sadly.

Cool.

I like them cubed, with cubed parsnips and carrots. Put 1/2 cup of olive oil in a bowl, sprinkle 1 teaspoon of ground coriander and 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom into the oil, then toss the vegetables in the oil mixture to coat and lay out on a sheet pan. Roast at 400 degrees for about 35 minutes, turning the vegetables after the first 20 minutes to assure even browning. Really tasty.

They are also great mashed, especially if mashed with some new potatoes and garlic.
