My Granddaughter
I'm hopeing this one will have many fond memories of her Grandfather. http://s1120.photobucket.com/albums/l497/youngmaster357/?action=view¤t=NewRel...
My wife enjoyed that a bunch!
Thanks!

I loved the video. I also wonder what handloaders would do without Folgers coffee cans?
My Granddaughter
Charles, that is one of the first things my wife noticed!
Otony
Folgers coffee cans?
use Maxwell House coffee cans, I reckon.
Folgers coffee cans?
lol Yes so true. Most things plastic I have no use for but I must admit these plastic cans are much quieter than the old metal ones. Dennis

Now thats the little things in life that make precious memories. Thanks for sharing that Dennis. A man can't help but watch and smile about that one.
About those coffee can's. I did a small survey over on castboolits about how many coffee can's most guys had. My wife was amazed at the results. I'm growing use to the plastic ones, but it hasn't been an easy transition.

My only complaint is that you can't use them to boil water over a campfire.

Ray,are you sure? I don't know for a fact about plastic but I do know about paper. Back many years ago while in boy scouts we boiled water in paper cups all the time, mostly just to show off and prove that it could be done. The paper cup would burn down to the water line and then burn no further and after a bit the water would come to a boil. Dennis
I have done the same in birch bark or used hot stones in
bark containers. THAT can be tedious...

Perhaps I need to burn some of my firewood outside and see if I can put a plastic can to boiling water. If it fails all that would happen is I lose a coffee can. If I try the same in the house and it fails I'm sure my lovely wife would look unfavorable on the pursuit of science whice inspired me.
Yep, when bark burns it smokes but it doesn't stink like
plastic coffee cans and burning plastic stinks 10X worse indoors than out. Don't ask me how I know.

I'm not sure I'd want to be drinking the plasticizers
Released when the plastic container got that hot
I like steel coffee cans because they don't cost anything
No one gets upset when you burn one all black. Most people boil water on a campfire so they can make coffee or tea. I don't like either of those, so I boil the water to heat up MRE's. They come with heater packets but those things stink and they don't heat the meal packets up thoroughly.
