We had a shooting locally today. Two fireman were killed and two others injured. A shooter ambushed them responding to a fire he set. One was a Lt in the Webster police dept and was responding as a volunteer fireman the other a 911 dispatcher for monroe county also a volunteer fireman.

It was a perfect trap set by the shooter. The houses sits on a narrow strip of land that seperates Lake Ontario and Irondiquoit bay. One way in one way out. They never knew what they were responding to.

Joesph Hofsetter one of the fireman wounded is a true hero as well as the other two that were killed and 1 wounded. Here is his radio transmissions during the shooting. He never got excited and gave excellent info to help the others responding despite being shot through the pelvis. I will warn you it is chilling and upsetting. I can't believe how calm he was. He is a full time fireman with Rochester fire dept(not a nice city!! )so I'm sure he has seen a lot but it is amazing.

I didn't know any of them personally but do know a few guys I worked with that now work for Webster police dept. I was worried for them.

All the families involved could use some prayers.

They let him plead to manslaughter, or maybe he'd still be in prison. I wonder what set him off, this time?

The crazys are amoungst us, everyday. 1 in 5,000 +/-

I saw the newstory on this and was dismayed. My Step-Son is a fire fighter and arson investigator and we have fears of such a ting.

My prayers will be for all those who grieve over this loss.
