Mr. Leahy, I am very happy your son is enjoying the gun. If that thing is a representative of what all PT1911,s are. Taurus hit a home run with the product. I fed flat nose bowling pin bullets, Big hollow nose and everything else offered through it. And it never gliched to the best of my memory.
My only complaint was the duel side safteys. Every time I got out of the truck the saftey would be flipped down in the fire position. Never had that problem with traditional left side safteys on other 1911 products.
Would not hesitate to carry it for defense if I had not had the saftey issue.
